Michelle Trachtenberg was notably left out of the “In Memoriam” segment at the 2025 Oscars.
The annual Academy Awards took place Sunday in Los Angeles, where late movie stars were remembered by their grieving peers.
However, fans were outraged after the “Gossip Girl” star was not mentioned less than one week after her tragic death.
“Michelle Trachtenberg deserved her flowers!!! #Oscars that’s so sad,” one X user wrote, to which another added, “oh f—k yall for not including michelle trachtenberg. so disrespectful.”
“It’s shameful that the #Oscars didn’t include Michelle Trachtenberg in their memorial montage of all the actors/actresses who have passed within the year!!!!” a third agreed.
“michelle trachtenberg not being mentioned in the in memoriam section of the oscars is upsetting , you are and will remain so so loved and admired Michelle ,” someone else wrote.
“Leaving out Michelle Trachtenberg is despicable,” a sixth user wrote.
Other viewers noticed that Tony Todd, famous for his roles in “Candyman” and “Final Destination,” was also seemingly snubbed, along with “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Shannen Doherty, Chance Perdomo, Tony Roberts, Linda Lavin and Martin Mull.
Fans called her exclusion “despicable” and “shameful.”

Those honored in the Morgan Freeman-led segment included Maggie Smith, Gena Rowlands, Teri Garr, Donald Sutherland, Louis Gossett Jr., Shelley Duvall, David Lynch, James Earl Jones and Gene Hackman, whom Freeman called “a dear friend.”
As Page Six previously reported, Trachtenberg went into cardiac arrest and died in her New York City apartment earlier this week after having recently received a liver transplant. She was 39.
Her cause and manner of death have already been ruled “undetermined” as her loved ones refused an autopsy.
While Trachtenberg was left off the list, Gene Hackman was honored.

“Under public health law, families may object to autopsy based on religious belief, and provided there is no suspicion of criminality or compelling public health reason to proceed with autopsy, the medical examiner honors the objection,” a rep for the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York told us.
While the city medical examiner’s office conducted an external examination on the actress, it’s unlikely any further testing will be done.
Those who saw the “Harriet the Spy” star in the time leading up to her death said she seemed to be “in very bad shape.”
Just six days before she died, Trachtenberg dined with friends at Italian restaurant Sartiano’s, where an employee observed her looking so “frail” that she could barely “walk down the stairs.”

A neighbor recalled the same sight, noting that Trachtenberg had become “svelte” and looked “less and less like herself in the last few months,” which echoed what fans had been saying for at least a year.
The “EuroTrip” star had seemingly lost weight, her hair had thinned and the whites of her eyes appeared yellow, but she insisted in January 2024 that she was “happy and healthy.”
As for Hackman, Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies discovered the two-time Oscar winner’s body in his New Mexico home Wednesday afternoon. He was 95.
The bodies of his wife, 65-year-old classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, and one of the couple’s dogs were also discovered.
Those who saw the actress in the time leading up to her death said she seemed to be “in very bad shape.”

Though the deputies did not suspect foul play, they later called the deaths “suspicious.”
“The death of the two deceased individuals [is] suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation because the reporting party found the front door of the residence unsecured and opened,” the search warrant stated.
“Deputies observed a healthy dog running loose on the property, another healthy dog near the deceased female, a deceased dog laying 10-15 feet from the deceased female in a closet of the bathroom, the heater being moved, the pill bottle being opened and pills scattered next to the female, the male decedent being located in a separate room of the residence, and no obvious signs of a gas leak.”
