Willow Smith said she and her brother were often scrutinized and shunned by the community and family because of their rebellious appearance and gender fluidity.

On October 17, according to Daily Mail, Willow Smith revealed that she and her brother had to face many things in life, especially gender discrimination, in the latest episode of the show Red Table Talk.

However, according to the British newspaper, despite their potential, Willow and her brother Jaden were not always welcomed because of their pioneering aesthetic and fearlessness in expressing themselves.

“The African-American community was not happy and always had a shunning attitude when it came to Jaden and I. They would talk and treat us like we weren’t proud of us because we were so different and strange,” the 19-year-old singer said.

Willow Smith’s daughter also confirmed that even her mother and some relatives were sometimes unhappy with the two brothers simply because they were “too different”.

According to Daily Mail, the young singer’s statement was a response to Jada Pinkett, her biological mother, on a talk show about raising children. Will Smith’s wife once said she was quite shocked when her daughter cut her hair and became rebellious.

“Over the years, I’ve spoken a lot about being criticized for bad parenting. I received a lot of criticism and hate messages when Willow first cut her hair short,” the 49-year-old actor said of her daughter.

While Jaden often wears dresses, his sister becomes the center of media attention when appearing with a bald hairstyle. Many times, the two children of actor Will Smith attract attention because of this.

In an interview in June, Willow admitted to being bisexual. “I love both men and women. I feel like I can be faithful and be good with anyone,” she said in front of her mother and grandmother.

Jaden Smith also admitted to being bisexual when he dated many women, publicly dating rapper Tyler The Creator at an event in 2018.
