On December 13, former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized due to injuries while traveling with a US congressional delegation to Luxembourg, CNBC News reported, citing information from Ms. Pelosi’s office.
“Ms. Pelosi was injured during an official function and was taken to the hospital for evaluation,” said Ian Krager, a spokesman for Ms. Pelosi.
According to Mr. Krager, the congresswoman “is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals .”
“She continues to work and regrets not being able to attend the remaining scheduled activities of the congressional delegation,” Mr. Krager added.
The spokesperson did not respond to CNBC ‘s request for further details about the incident.
In a photo shared by the US Embassy in Luxembourg earlier in the day, Ms Pelosi stood next to House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, who led the delegation.
In a post on social media X, Mr. McCaul hoped Ms. Pelosi would recover soon.
“I am saddened that Ms. Pelosi will not be able to participate in the remainder of our delegation events this weekend. But she is strong, and I am confident that she will recover soon” –
There are unconfirmed reports that Ms Pelosi may have fallen and broken her hip, requiring surgery.
