A large python was forced to regurgitate a baby calf it had swallowed at a farm in India.
A 4.5-meter-long python ate a calf that was wandering near a rice field in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh on September 27. Locals later caught the python and forced it to vomit the calf.
Footage shows two men holding the python upside down to force the calf out of its mouth.
The python vomited the calf.
Forest department officials were called to the scene to rescue the calf, but locals decided to handle the reptile themselves.
A few minutes later, the python pushed the calf out of its stomach, however, the animal was dead.
In Indian culture, cows are sacred animals, worshiped as gods, especially by the Hindu community, because Nandi bull is the mount of Shiva – the Destroyer, one of the three supreme gods of Hinduism. Therefore, Indians abstain from eating beef, but cow’s milk is still used.
