Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan critically injured after a robber stabs him during a break-in at his Bandra west residence in the early hours of Thursday.

In an unfortunate incident, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was rendered critical after he was allegedly stabbed by a robber who had barged inside his residence in Bandra (west). Sources said, the incident occurred at around 2:30 am on Thursday when the actor was asleep with his family.

The robber later fled the scene after other family members woke up. Several police teams have been formed to nab the culprit. A senior IPS officer confirmed the incident and said that Khan has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital where he is under treatment.

An unknown person entered Actor Saif Ali Khan’s residence and argued with his maid, late last night. When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him. Police are investigating the matter: Mumbai Police

“Saif Ali Khan was brought to Lilavati (hospital) at 3-30 am. He has six injuries of which two are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him. He is being operated upon by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, and cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. We will tell the extent of the damage only after the surgery is done,” said Niraj Uttamani, CEO of Lilavati Hospital.

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan’s team issued a statement on behalf of the actor and confirmed that there was an attempted burglary and it also mentioned that he is undergoing surgery. 

“There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter,” read the official statement issued by the actor’s team.

A source claimed that Saif fought with the thief without a weapon to protect his family. This happened in the middle of the night. He fought tough and saved from family being harmed and he got injured in the process. While the guy had a weapon… Saif had nothing.”

Fortunately, the injury is not serious, as the knife wound is on his back. The police have started an investigation, and CCTV footage from the area around the house is being reviewed.

According to reports, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children Taimur and Jeh are safe.

The Mumbai Joint CP Law and Order has confirmed the incident, stating that Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment last night, and CCTV footage is being used to investigate the suspects. 

The DCP Bandra division confirmed that the actor was injured.

An unidentified person intruded in the residence of Actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. Investigation is going on.”

Saif is the son of Sharmila Tagore and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The actor made his acting debut in Parampara in 1993. He was seen in films such as Yeh Dillagi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Kachche Dhaage, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Hum Tum, Parineeta, Salaam Namaste, Ta Ra Rum Pum, “Love Aaj Kal”, Race, “Cocktail”, “Tanhaji”.

He was last seen on screen in “Devara: Part 1” starring alongside Janhvi Kapoor and NTR Jr.
