Shakira has looked back on what has been a very difficult year for the Colombian singer as she dealt with the split from her partner, former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.

She also had a return to the music scene which is good news and brings lots of excitement for the singer, but it also brings more pressure and public attention.

She has shared a video in which she has discussed the difficulties of the past few months whilst her split from Pique was finalised, and she also thanked her fans for the way in which they have supported her.

“I want to thank you for listening to me, for allowing me to express myself, hopefully in 2023 I can continue to reciprocate all the love and affection you give me, and bring you new music and much, much more, kisses,” she said.

Shakira and Pique announced a surprise separation at the end of June after a 12-year relationship and two children together, causing a media scandal.

Then the name of Clara Chia came up, the girl with whom the footballer had started a relationship, whilst still living with Shakira. Initially, Pique did not want to say anything, but a few days later he began to be seen in public with his new partner.

Subsequently, a painful legal dispute over child support and custody of their children Milan and Sasha began, and it emerged that after the Christmas period, Shakira will move with her children to Miami, and Pique will be able to visit them as often as he wants.
