Shah Rukh Khan had once talked about his alleged affair with Priyanka Chopra and how she holds a close place in his heart.

Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra were as thick as thieves, and the entire industry knew it. They shared a bond that people would crave. While Priyanka Chopra had admitted being always in awe of Shah Rukh, the actor always considered her close to his heart. However, their friendship didn’t go well with the industry peeps and Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan. Soon, the news of their alleged affair made rounds in the newspaper somewhere around 2011.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh and Priyanka got closed during the shooting of the series, Don. They were spotted hanging out in nightclubs, parties and events. Recently, we stumbled upon a video of Shah Rukh Khan addressing the question of his alleged affair with Priyanka Chopra and leaving his fans hurt as they always considered him one woman’s man. 

In the video, Shah Rukh Khan, who was sitting with Katrina Kaif, answered the question and said that it is disturbing for him as the lady who has worked with him got questioned and not shown the respect he shows her. He was quoted as saying:

To me, what is most disturbing is the fact that a lady who’s worked with me has been questioned, and somewhere down the line, she’s not being shown the kind of respect I show her or all the women. I think it’s a little disrespectful.

Shah Rukh further apologised to his fans and clarified that he is saying sorry not because of anything he had done but because she is his friend. He added that she has been the closest to his heart. He had said:

 I’m extremely sorry about that. Sorry means… it’s not directly because of anything I’ve done but because she’s my friend. She’s one of the closest friends I have, very close to my heart, and always will be.

Shah Rukh Khan also remembered seeing Priyanka Chopra in a beauty pageant for the first time

During the same interview, Shah Rukh heaped praises on Priyanka’s achievements. The superstar also remembered meeting Priyanka Chopra for the first time at a beauty pageant from where she started her Miss World crowning journey. He had stated:

“She’s a little girl who started her Miss India or Miss World crowning with me—I don’t remember. We’ve shared some of the nicest moments on screen as friends, and it’s unfortunate. It’s extremely unfortunate and sad for me to think that, you know, a friendship gets a little soiled.”
