Actor Song Jae Rim’s sudden death at his home at the age of 39 shocked the audience. Police found him leaving behind a two-page suicide note.
According to police, actor Song Jae Rim was found dead in his apartment in Seongdong-gu, Seoul on November 12. A friend who had planned to have lunch with the actor notified the authorities.
The cause of death has not been confirmed, but police found a two-page suicide note and nicotine concentrate at the scene.
“At this point, there is no indication of foul play. Considering the suicide note found, it is possible that he took his own life,” a police representative said.

The actor’s funeral was held at a funeral home in Yeouido on November 14 at 12 p.m. (Korean time). The late actor was buried at the Seoul City Crematorium.
Song Jae Rim’s family told Yonhap news agency that they wanted to hold a private funeral, attended only by family members, and did not give a cause of death.
After news of the actor’s death spread, netizens paid tribute to the deceased on his personal account. Song Jae Rim’s most recent post was a mirror selfie from January, with the words “beginning a long journey” in his bio.
Actor Park Ho San, who had a close relationship with Song Jae Rim, expressed his grief: “I’m really going crazy, Jae Rim. I can’t believe you’re gone. I’m sorry for not being able to contact you and take care of you.”
Song Jae Rim, who passed away at the age of 39, was born in 1985 and debuted as an actor with a supporting role in the 2009 film Actresses . He became more widely known through The Moon Embracing the Sun (2012). Since then, he has been active in TV series and films such as Inspiring Generation, Two Weeks, Goodbye Mr. Black, Surfing House, I Wanna Your Song, Queen Woo, The Suspect, Decoy …
