Princess Kate, Princess of Wales, announced that her cancer is in remission, nearly a year after she announced her diagnosis.

The 43-year-old British princess shared the news in a statement on X: “It is a relief to know that my cancer is in remission, and I will continue to focus on my recovery.”

“As anyone who has been through a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adjust to the new normal. However, I am looking forward to a meaningful year ahead. Thank you all for your continued support,” she said.

Kate, wife of Prince William and mother of three, announced in March last year that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would undergo chemotherapy. She has not given further details about her condition or treatment since then.

In September 2024, Princess Kate shared that she had completed chemotherapy and was focusing on remaining “cancer-free” and returning to work.

The latest information about the Princess’s health was released after she made a surprise visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital in London on January 14, where she is being treated, according to Kensington Palace.

At the hospital, the princess chatted with patients and staff, and shared her personal experiences, telling a person undergoing chemotherapy: “This is really difficult. It’s really a shock.”

Princess Kate also shared the advice that helped her feel better during her treatment: “Everyone told me to always stay positive, that made a big difference. I felt like I needed to get outside more. You need a lot of water and sunshine.”

In her message on X, the Princess thanked those who supported her on her journey, especially the staff at The Royal Marsden Hospital.

She added that, in her new role as patron of The Royal Marsden – a role she will share with Prince William – she hopes to “change the experience” of those affected by cancer and save more lives.
