“If you pay $40 for a book, you wouldn’t expect it to have so many spelling mistakes,” one fan shared on TikTok.
According to The Independent , Taylor Swift is currently being criticized by fans for having too many grammatical errors and low-quality images in her latest book.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Book went on sale at Target stores across the US on Friday (November 29). Fans were excited and posted their joy on TikTok after purchasing the book. However, not all the videos were joyful. A fan named Emily, who woke up at 5 a.m. on Friday to go to Target, shared that the $ 40 book did not live up to expectations.
High price but low quality
In her video, Emily pointed out the book’s “grammatical errors, low-quality images, and design flaws.” Fans even called it the “errors tour book” (Errors instead of Eras).

Emily shared some very “egregious” mistakes by zooming in on a page from Swift’s 2017 album Reputation. In the section, Swift wrote about what fans do at her concerts. “Every night, before the music starts… the crowd goes, ‘One, two, three, let’s go.’”
In the next sentence, Swift writes that this was “an Eras tradition she looked forward to every night”.
Emily chimed in: “Why are we using ‘every night’ in two consecutive sentences? It doesn’t sound good. It’s lazy writing.”
Emily also zoomed in on a major typo that listed one of Swift’s surprise tour songs. Instead of saying “I’m trying” to include a song from her 2020 album Folklore , the page said “I’m rying].”
Emily then looked through a series of photos from the tour and commented: “People often flatten these expensive books just to see some of the book photos in the margins, because it breaks the spine of the book.” Emily also criticized some of Swift’s photos for looking like they were “taken with an iPhone” or “quite blurry and grainy.”
While this fan shared some highlights from the book, such as Swift’s “behind the scenes” tour, Emily still questioned why a $40 book had so many grammatical errors.
“If you pay $40 for a book, you don’t expect it to be this free of errors. You don’t expect the pictures to be covered by the spine, to be low quality, and not as sharp,” Emily shared.
“I don’t know what happened, I don’t know if it’s a scheduling issue. The grammar mistakes I noticed should have been fixed immediately,” the fan added.
Emily even asserted that the book should have been properly edited before publication.
Many fans are disappointed
“I made this video with love but also with general frustration about many issues; these issues could have easily been fixed with a little more editing. This book has so much potential and could have been perfected with just a little editing,” Emily wrote.
The video quickly went viral, racking up over 800,000 views on TikTok. In the comments section, many agreed with Emily’s assessment and admitted they were disappointed with the book’s outcome.
“As an editor, I get goosebumps from all the issues. 100% waste of money,” one commenter wrote. While another joked: “The book is like a high school yearbook.”
“For $40 all the photos should be HQ 4K quality and we never get to see them… Why are there so many photos that are already released and from the Eras Tour movie????” a third fan said.
Others argued that the book should not be released before the tour ends, on December 8.
“I really feel like they could have waited and released something good after the Eras Tour ended,” one user shared.
