Madeline Gaudreau is a mom!
The widow of late NHL player Johnny Gaudreau’s brother Matthew Gaudreau announced via Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 29 that she has welcomed her first baby, a boy, months after her husband’s tragic death.
“Tripp Matthew 🤍🦋,” she wrote in the caption, revealing her son’s name. She added, “Mommy & Daddy’s world.”
The post featured a photo of Madeline holding her newborn’s tiny hand as he laid on a baby blanket alongside a small round sign that read “He’s Here.”
Madeline tragically lost her husband Matthew, 29, and his brother Johnny, 31, on Aug. 29 when the pair died in a bike crash in Oldmans Township, N.J., after they were hit by drunk driver Sean M. Higgins.
The brothers were laid to rest on Sept. 9 at a joint funeral, where she and Johnny’s widow Meredith gave emotional speeches honoring their late husbands.
Higgins, 44, was formally indicted by a grand jury on Dec. 11 on several charges, including second-degree reckless vehicular homicide and first-degree aggravated manslaughter.
On Dec. 16, Madeline shared that her baby’s due date was nearing.
