His mother Fayza Lamari admits that “if we could have accepted 10 billion, we would have done it”
Kylian Mbappe has firmly declared that he deserves the career earnings he’s made, stating, “that’s the way the world works.”
The PSG marksman has come clean to ‘Envoye Special’, in which he talks about everything but notably about the amount of money he demands for his services as one of the best forwards in world football.
About his annual income he did not deny that he earns around 108 million euros a year, which is approximately 2180 times more than the average salary in France. It’s something a younger version of the Frenchman would’ve found outrageous.
“The truth is that I don’t know exactly, [how much he earns]” Mbappe replied to Elise Lucet. “When I was 12 years old I also thought that in soccer there was too much money.
“I deserve the money I earn. I didn’t steal it from anyone. That’s the way the world works.”
His mother, Fayza Lamari, is a key part of this report along with Delphine Verheyden, the Mbappe clan’s lawyer.
They insist that they shouldn’t regret the amount of money that the FIFA World Cup winner’s talent can earn him.
“There is no guilt and no shame,” Lamari said. “If we could have accepted 10 billion, we would have done it because it’s the system that wants that.”
What else does he talk about?
He also discusses his desire to start a family, battles against racism, the terrible disappointment in the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina and his desire to compete in the 2024 Olympics and his relationship with his parents.
“Go for a quiet meal in a brasserie,” Mbappe added, on how he prefers live daily life. “Go out, go out with friends, party incognito, nobody sees you. The next morning, a nice brunch in the sun on a terrace, admiring things. Simple things in life.”
However, the question of his future, which is at the center of all the attention, is not addressed. He has been strongly linked to Real Madrid, although the footballer recognizes that PSG wants to know his decision as soon as possible.
