Ben Foster lavishes praise on Manchester United’s £40 million target
Manchester United is reportedly in pursuit of signing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, who could be a long-term solution for the club. The Mirror reported that Manchester United is chasing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, valued at £40 million.
The Red Devils could part ways with Christian Eriksen, Sofyan Amrabat, and Casemiro in the first summer under the ownership of INEOS. And Gomes seems to possess most of the qualities of a midfielder that Man United is seeking.
Ben Foster, former Manchester United goalkeeper, told the Premier League YouTube channel: “I think, to fit into Gary O’Neil’s team, essentially you have to beat yourself and work as a team.”
“You have to fight, that’s what he does, you have to get the ball back. Gomes likes to go forward, he likes to drop back, he plays box-to-box. He’s a typical player, with the work ethic of Gary O’Neil, and he can also go up the other end and score goals.”
“They’ve got a serious player on their hands. He seems to fit in perfectly at Wolves. The type of player Gary O’Neil is exactly the type of player like Joao Gomes.”
