Everton have been hamstrung by a points deduction this campaign, but their early season form has well and truly ended, and they face an uphill battle to maintain their Premier League status.
Sean Dyche’s side picked up a late point against Newcastle United on Tuesday night, but they are now without a win in their last 13 league matches – something that hasn’t happened for 67 years. Furthermore, their run of four consecutive victories in December seems like a distant memory.
The Toffees are four points clear of the relegation zone, but their current form is woeful and the squad looks devoid of any confidence.

In addition, the draw against Newcastle was further proof that Amadou Onana needs to leave the club. He wasn’t at his very best at St James’ Park, and was withdrawn in the second-half, but it’s clear that Onana is superior to the vast majority of his current team-mates.
The most telling example of this occurred in the 28th minute of the loss to Newcastle. After a long spell of Newcastle possession, Everton regained the ball and looked to spring a quick counter-attack.
Onana played the ball into Beto’s feet, who opted to lay the ball back towards the Belgian despite having the ability to turn and run at Dan Burn and Fabian Schar. However, his pass was loose and left Onana with far too much to do. The midfielder was unable to get the ball under control and Newcastle regained possession.
Onana threw his hands up in disgust as Jacob Murphy sprinted into the Everton penalty area before jogging back into position after throwing a glare in Beto’s direction.

Amadou Onana to Man Utd?
As he proved during Belgium’s 2-2 draw against England in March, Onana is capable of cutting it at the very highest level, but he has been unable to display his full potential in a pretty poor Everton side.
Ultimately, Onana is far too good for a dogfight at the bottom of the Premier League table and Manchester United must save him or his career is at risk of flatlining.
The Red Devils are extremely interested in the Belgium international, as previously reported by FootballTransfers, and he appears to be the perfect replacement for Casemiro at Old Trafford.
He would add height and physicality to Man Utd’s midfield, while Kobbie Mainoo would flourish next to the Everton star.
Onana is accomplished in possession and feels like a player who would thrive under the pressure of playing for arguably the biggest club in England.
The Belgium international needs to leave Everton and Man Utd appears to be the ideal destination for him.
