“I dedicated the goal to him [Messi] because I know what Leo means to us,” Lautaro Martinez told the media after Argentina’s 2-0 win against Peru at the Copa America.
“Leo is fine, we hope he can be in the next game,” the striker added.
Lautaro Martinez ran straight to Leo Messi after scoring against Peru as the two enjoyed a warm hug.
Messi missed the Peru clash through a minor injury. He is likely to be fit for the quarter-finals in which Argentina are expected to face Mexico or Ecuador.
