Kylian Mbappe is due to travel to Madrid on Wednesday amid claims that the Paris Saint-Germain forward wants to quit the club just months after signing a new £650,000-per-week contract.
The French international will allegedly travel to the Spanish capital with three colleagues, including Sergio Ramos, after rejecting a move to the Spanish giants in the summer.
However, the 23-year-old, who openly attacked PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s methods in the early stages of the season, will travel to be a VIP guest of honor at a bullfight, according to Spanish radio station COPE, rather than to debate his football future.
Ramos, a bullfighting fan, will be joined by goalkeepers Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma at Madrid’s famous Las Ventas bullring for an event competing with the National Day of Spain, a national holiday celebrated annually on October 12 and known in Spanish as the Dia de la Hispanidad.
The usual gathering, including Ramos’ buddy Alejandro Talavante, will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The PSG players are expected to fly to Madrid on a day off following their Champions League match against Benfica.
The news of Mbappe’s upcoming visit to Madrid coincide with shocking claims that he already wants to quit PSG after feeling ‘betrayed’ by the club’s owners.
The great striker made enemies at Real Madrid by preferring to stay at PSG in a protracted transfer controversy this summer rather than move to La Liga.
The club’s fans accused him of breaking his pledge to join them and putting money ahead of his career by accepting his lucrative new contract.
There has been no official statement from the Frenchman regarding his reported travel to Spain.
