On the morning of March 14, Gold Medalist Company issued a press release clarifying suspicions related to actor Kim Soo Hyun. In it, they admitted that Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun had dated for a while, but the relationship lasted from 2019 to 2020. 

In addition, Gold Medalist also explained the 700 million won (more than 12 billion VND) debt that actress Kim Sae Ron owed the company.

Gold Medalist Company also provided documents clarifying the amount of money they spent on Kim Sae Ron to compensate for contracts with partners after a serious  traffic accident in 2022.

Accordingly, the company spent more than 1 billion won to help the actress compensate for 1 advertising contract, 1 TV drama project and some damages due to violating the advertising contract. 

“Kim Soo Hyun was described as a devil who pushed Kim Sae Ron to death. HoverLab news agency also accused Kim Soo Hyun’s management company of pressuring Kim Sae Ron to pay off her debt, Kim Soo Hyun did not care when Kim Sae Ron sought help, causing her to make an extreme choice.

However, all of this information is not true. At that time, the company had paid off all the debts that Kim Sae Ron could not pay,” the statement said. 

The company also confirmed that they have reduced Kim Sae Ron’s debt to the smallest possible amount. “She has been working hard to pay off her debt and the remaining amount is only 700 million won,” the company added. 

The company also confirmed that Kim Sae Ron’s 700 million won debt is a matter between Gold Medalist and the actress, and has nothing to do with the Queen of Tears actor.

“The information that Kim Soo Hyun lent money to Kim Sae Ron is not true. Kim Soo Hyun has never lent money to Kim Sae Ron, nor did he force her to pay it back or have any intention of doing so,” the statement said. 

Kim Soo Hyun was completely unaware of the issue between the company and Kim Sae Ron. “Our company will contact Kim Sae Ron’s side with the participation of legal experts to avoid misunderstandings,” Kim Soo Hyun’s company emphasized. 

Previously, Dispatch news agency revealed that Kim Sae Ron had signed a financial contract with Gold Medalist Company. According to the agreement between the two parties signed on November 22, 2022, the remaining compensation amount is 668.64 million won (11.7 billion VND). The company requested Kim Sae Ron to pay before December 31, 2023. 

Then, on March 15, 2024, Gold Medalist hired the law firm LKB & Partners as its legal representative and sent a notice demanding Kim Sae Ron to pay 686.64 million won. LKB & Partners requested Kim Sae Ron to transfer the entire amount to her account as soon as possible.

They told the actress, “If the loan amount is not transferred, our client will take civil and criminal legal measures.” This message made Kim Sae Ron extremely worried. 

She sent a message to Kim Soo Hyun on March 24, 2024, saying, “I received the notice. They said they would sue me. They said they would give me enough time, so I’m working hard to prepare for my comeback and will pay back little by little with each work. 

It’s not that I don’t want to pay, it’s that I really can’t pay 700 million won right now. It’s not that I won’t do it, it’s that I can’t do it, is there a need to sue? Please save me. I beg you. Please give me time.”

According to Korean media, Kim Soo Hyun did not reply to his ex-girlfriend’s messages.

According to Dispatch, the actor took a photo of Kim Sae Ron’s text message with her phone number uncovered and sent it to several reporters and YouTubers. This caused the actress and her family to be terrorized by the media afterwards. 

According to the person claiming to be the late actress’s aunt, Kim Soo Hyun’s actions caused Kim Sae Ron to completely collapse. The actress, born in 2000, committed suicide at her home in Seoul (South Korea) on February 16.
