Due to negative public reactions, Kim Sae Ron has almost no chance to repay her debt to her old company.

The news of the passing of talented actress Kim Sae Ron is still making the public shocked and saddened. Earlier on the afternoon of February 16, the police discovered that the actress had passed away forever at her home. 

In a press conference on the afternoon of February 17, the Korean National Police Agency in Seodaemun District, Seoul concluded: “After reviewing the case, we found that the victim made an extreme choice, and we plan to handle the case like previous cases.” The investigation agency will also not release the autopsy results at the request of the family.

Kim Sae Ron passed away at the age of 25, leaving the audience in mourning.

Previously in May 2020, Kim Sae Ron was involved in a scandal when she caused an accident while drunk. The actress crashed into a transformer station, causing a power outage in the surrounding areas. The court fined her 20 million won.

At that time, the former management company Gold Medalist paid all the compensation and fines for advertising contracts, movies, etc. on behalf of the actress, an estimated amount of about 700 million won (12.3 billion VND). Kim Sae Ron also promised to return the money when she left the company.

Actress’s career plummeted after drunk driving scandal

However, Kim Sae Ron had almost no chance to pay off her debt because the extremely negative public opinion prevented her from returning to the entertainment industry. The actress had to make a living by working as a waitress at a cafe, arranging flowers, or teaching acting to trainee actors. However, this amount of money was still not enough for her to pay off her debt. 

Kim Sae Ron’s lawyer in the drunk driving case said, “It is true that she had to work part-time because of financial difficulties. The fine for the accident was quite high and she was saddled with a lot of debt. All of her previous income was used to fund Kim Sae Ron’s parents’ business and family expenses, so she could only rely on her part-time job to make a living. She did not know how to repay the debt to the company.”

According to TV Daily, citing a close friend of the late actress, Kim Sae Ron had suffered from severe depression for a long time, causing great concern to those around her. However, the actress, born in 2000, still had a strong will to return to her artistic activities and had actively sought treatment. 

“But public opinion is still harsh, the wounds in our hearts cannot be healed immediately. We feel helpless because we cannot publicly let the public know how much pain Sae Ron is in” – this person shared. 

Kim Sae Ron had to go through the last days of her life full of suffering.
