Rapper Kanye West and his billionaire ex-wife Kim Kardashian have been embroiled in a war over Kanye’s new song, which features his daughter North and rapper Diddy, who is currently in jail on sex trafficking charges.
According to TMZ , Kim Kardashian did not agree to her daughter appearing on the song and tried to block its release. The source said the businesswoman sent a cease-and-desist letter and even held an emergency hearing with a mediator and a judge, but Kanye did not participate. However, the rapper reportedly promised not to release the song.

In a since-deleted tweet on Saturday, Kanye West also shared a screenshot of a contentious text message with Kim Kardashian. Kim wrote: “I sent the papers to keep her out of Diddy’s song to protect her.” Kim also said she had trademarked their daughter’s name and had spoken to her ex-husband about it. Kanye was furious that Kim had trademarked their children’s names, replying: “Change it or I’m going to war.” The rapper also said he would no longer speak to his ex-wife.

However, shortly after, Kanye shared a new song called Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine on X (Twitter) on March 15. Kanye captioned the song featuring Diddy, Diddy’s son Christian Combs, and his daughter North West. The song opens with Diddy thanking Kanye for his support while he was in prison. Kanye responded by saying that Diddy taught him many things, even before they met. North, 11, makes a brief but notable appearance, rapping: “When you see me shine, you see the light.”
Sources revealed that Kim Kardashian does not want her daughter to be associated with Kanye West’s controversial moves, nor does she want North’s name associated with Diddy – the controversial rapper and music producer who is currently in prison for sex trafficking allegations. “Kim’s priority is the health and safety of her children, protecting them from Kanye’s controversial behavior,” the source told Page Six.

Last month, Kanye West called for Diddy to be released in a post on X, publicly showing his support for his colleague. Kanye has also been criticized recently for anti-Semitic, racist, and misogynistic comments. Because of his shocking posts in February, Kanye was briefly suspended from his X account and dropped by his talent agency .
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were married from 2014 to 2021 and have four children together. After their divorce, the two stars shared custody of their children, but the children mainly live with Kim. Eldest daughter North West has featured on some of Kanye’s songs and performed on stage with her father.
