John Cena is undoubtedly a global icon. He is admired by several fans around the women. He is a very popular name among children, but he also has his own fair share of following from the female contingency. WWE star Liv Morgan and Hollywood actress Sophie Turner are among the few high-profile names that have admitted having a crush on the Cenation leader, but he himself has also admitted having a crush on someone. However, Shay Shariatzadeh doesn’t have anything to worry about because it is not a woman that has captured the imagination of the WWE Icon, but rather a male actor that Cena described as having “a lot of energy.”
Back in 2017, John Cena appeared in a Vanity Fair video on YouTube where he answered a number of random questions. One of the questions was regarding his man crush. Cena, wasted no time answering the question, both naming the Hollywood star and explaining why in the same breath.
John Cena once revealed who his man crush in Hollywood was
John Cena’s crush is none other than his once upon a time WWE rival Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s best friend. Yes, we’re talking about none other than Kevin Hart. Cena called the actor comedian funny and said that he had a sense of style about him.
“Kevin Hart. Like what he does. Funny guy. He has a sense of style about him. A lot of energy,” he said without skipping a beat.
We don’t have Kevin Hart’s response on record, but we can only imagine he must have used it to take a rib on the Rock. The two have a surprisingly wholesome relationship with each other and can often be seen making each other laugh through their humorous shots against each other on numerous talk shows and interviews.
Twice in a lifetime
The Rock and John Cena have had very similar career paths. They both debuted as white meat babyfaces that fans found quite bland until they turned heel. With no longer having to win over the fans, both Cena and The Rock turned on their charm with their promo work.
Originally meant to rile up the fans, their skills on the mic inadvertently helped them win over the crowd before they began their journey to the top.
Cena and The Rock both eventually moved on to Hollywood, but before that happened, there was a period of time when Cena accused the Brahma Bull of abandoning WWE.
This would spawn a WrestleMania encounter between them dubbed “Once in a lifetime.”
Cena surprisingly lost the encounter and spiraled to his lowest, while The Rock ended CM Punk’s record WWE championship reign to win the World title once again. His win coincided with Cena bagging the Royal Rumble and earning a rematch at WrestleMania again.
This time, it was Cena who avenged his loss and left the arena as the new WWE Champion.
