The character of John Cena aka Jakob Torreto in the Fast and Furious Franchise initially surprised the fans. The biggest babyface in WWE played a villain in the ninth installment of the film. However, by the end of the film Jakob makes amends with Dominik Torretto played by Vin Diesel, and becomes a good guy, as we saw in Fast X. Surprisingly, The Cenation Leader credited an iconic scene of Diesel and Paul Walker for his character to turn into a good guy.
Diesel and Walker had several iconic scenes until the seventh part of the film. However, Cena is a massive fan of their one particular scene from the first movie.

The first Fast movie captivated the audience with its thrilling action scenes. The Fast and The Furious featured Brian O’Conner aka Paul Walker infiltrating a crew of hijackers of Dominic Toretto aka Vin Diesel’s group.
By the end of the movie when police are nearly successful in catching Dom, Conner gives him a 10-second car. John Cena loves that scene and claims a similar moment was in F9 between him and Diesel. Moreover, in his interview on Notsam Wrestling, he said this scene is responsible for Jakob Toretto turning into a good guy.

“This Sets the Stage for Something Larger”: John Cena Describes His Feelings on Using His Signature WWE Move in Fast X
Cena said, “So I’m happy because it goes along with what happened. A bad guy who gets an opportunity to mirror a moment in the Fast Franchise of when Dom Toretto needed a 10-second car, he got one. Then Dom Toretto, nine movies later, is able to give his brother a 10-second car. That’s beautiful and I’m glad that they didn’t make me some sort of jaded individual.”
The WWE legend added, “Because I went through the jaded phase. Yes, it was only in one movie and in a perfect story in one or two movies whatever. That moment of somebody once gave me a 10-second car and now I’m giving you back, that switch, see you bye.”
“That’s coming down to save the day, throw all the heels out of the ring, ‘come on’. That’s the moment, so it was cool that they didn’t let the gravity of that because being a Fast fan I was involved in the 10-second car moment…I showed up in the same gear and then evolved,” the 16-time champion further added.
In Fast X Cena played a version of himself that he is in real life and WWE. He was a cool and funny uncle to Dominic Toretto’s son. Nevertheless, Jakob sacrificed himself to save the life of his nephew Brian and brother Dom in the movie.

Will Cena return to the next part of Fast X?
‘The Franchise Player’ is a major asset for the Fast and Furious movies. We know the franchise brings back characters who we thought were dead in previous parts, like Sung Kang’s Han Lue and Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar.
The franchise hasn’t released any statement about Cena’s future in the movies. However, we can assume they’ll possibly make a script showing how the WWE legend is alive and show him in the next films. Also, with Dwayne Johnson returning to the franchise, the moviemakers will want them together in the next parts.
