Billy Ray Cyrus Announces Engagement
American singer Billy Ray Cyrus, father of Miley Cyrus, has revealed his engagement to his girlfriend, Firerose, who is 27 years his junior.
In an interview with People magazine published on November 16th, Billy Ray Cyrus shared that he met the Australian vocalist 12 years ago on the set of a Disney production in Los Angeles. He was immediately impressed and believed she would soon become a star. Subsequently, the two became friends and often exchanged thoughts on music. Firerose frequently sent her compositions to Billy for feedback and advice.
They grew closer during the pandemic. In July 2021, they decided to collaborate on the music video for “New Day.” After Billy’s divorce, Firerose moved to his farm in Tennessee, where they have been living together since. They got engaged in August.
