Behind the Grumpy Exterior: Getting to Know Walter, the Beloved Dog Grandpa
Meet Walter the boxer that acts like one of those grumpy old men who’s always in everyone’s business.
Not only does Water act like an old man, but with his white fur he also looks like one. And, when he’s looking down his snub nose while watching everyone, he nails the grumpy grandpa vibe.
Walter even likes to sit and oversee what all the humans and the other dogs are doing. He would rather kick back and observe than participate most of the time. And, he always seems ready to judge the situation.
Walter was adopted in 2015 by Kayla and her family when they moved to Florida from the Midwest. They don’t know why he was surrounded but they suspect the previous owners didn’t want to deal with a large dog because he wasn’t in good health and seemed to have been neglected.

When they brought him home, he had a kennel cough, was skinny, and was in rough shape. But soon enough, with the help of his new family, he got well. And once he did, he transformed into the “grumpy old man stuck in a dog” that they all love.
When he sits on the sofa or bed, he watches everyone and then slowly falls asleep just like Grandpa after Thanksgiving dinner. But don’t let appearances fool you, Walter knows exactly what is going on around him.
He also has a mischievous side. He’s truly a character and he likes getting into things, engages in stare-downs that he always wins, admires himself in the mirror, and watches every bite of snack you take.
But, mostly, Walter likes to contemplate life and watch the world go by. From his perch on the couch, he’ll stare out the window until something interests him enough to get a bark out of him or maybe even a closer look.

He’s also a momma’s boy who likes to go with Mom everywhere. He shares his life with Mom, Dad, and the other dogs. It’s just one big happy family with old man Water watching over everyone he loves.
Walter is more than adorable and we hope you enjoy his sweet rescue story. As always, please feel free to share with your friends.
