As victims of the devastating series of wildfires that ravaged multiple parts of Los Angeles navigate its aftermath, Hollywood stars are showing up for their community.
Multiple blazes have erupted across LA since Sept. 7, obliterating neighborhoods and leaving a catastrophic trail of destruction. Fires in the Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Sylmar and Ventura areas remained active on Tuesday, with Southern California facing “critical fire weather” through Wednesday.
High winds that have fueled the blazes for the past week picked up Monday morning and were expected to remain dangerous throughout the week. Late Sunday, predicted winds had not materialized, allowing firefighters and rescue crews to begin gaining some control.
At least 24 people have died between the Eaton and Palisades fires, the two biggest blazes, the Los Angeles County medical examiner said. The Palisades Fire had at least eight deaths, according to medical examiner records, and 16 people have died in the Eaton Fire.
Hollywood is also feeling the brunt of the fiery conditions.
