Actress Jaime King – Taylor Swift’s close friend and star of ‘Pearl Harbor’ and ‘Sin City’ – was ordered by the court to undergo 6 months of drug rehab and give custody of her children to her ex-husband.

According to E! News , in documents released on March 17, the judge said that Jaime King must complete a drug and alcohol treatment program. The 45-year-old actor must also participate in weekly testing as well as an aftercare program and parenting classes by the age of 26.
Her ex-husband, director Kyle Newman, was awarded custody of their two sons, James, 12, and Leo, 10. While Jaime King is in rehab, she is only allowed supervised visits with her children three times a week. Jaime’s sister, brother-in-law, and Kyle’s brother were assigned to act as chaperones during the actress’s visits with her two sons.

This is not the first time Jaime King has been accused of drug and alcohol use. In 2020, amid their custody battle during their divorce, director Kyle Newman described his ex-wife as “a longtime drug and alcohol addict who refused to admit she had a problem.” He filed for full custody of the children. Jaime King, meanwhile, denied the allegations. She said she agreed to go to a treatment facility but was released after a few days because she had no drugs or alcohol in her system.
Jaime King and Kyle Newman married in 2007, divorced after 13 years of marriage, and have two children together. Singer Taylor Swift is the godmother of their second son, Leo. Taylor was there to support Jaime King when Leo had heart surgery in 2016 and even donated a large sum of money to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles for the successful treatment of her godson.
