John Cena made headlines when he did an interview with Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated. This is where he made it known that he thinks WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is the best in-ring performer that he’s seen. To read his full comments, click here.
Roman Reigns gave his reaction to the comments made by Cena while speaking with Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com.
Reigns has shared the ring with both Cena and Lesnar on several occasions. In fact, Reigns battled Lesnar in the headliner of WrestleMania 31 as well as WrestleMania 34 in 2018.
“The statements that John Cena made about him [Brock], I’m not sure if he was wrong. He’s one of the few guys that people really really believe. Even as a performer, you have to always keep your eyes on him. If you watch when I’m in the ring with him, I never take my eyes off of Brock because you just never know. Thats the type of competitor, that’s the type of intimidating man that he is. I think the fact that Drew’s going to him next, he’s in good hands.”
Reigns added that Lesnar’s aura is the best as it’s old school, mystique, and kayfabe. He doesn’t think that wrestling has that anymore because of the internet and the stories.
The former WWE Champion doesn’t think that fans need to know everything the company is doing or its talent, which he took the blame for doing as well.
“And another thing about him, who doesn’t want to see him fight? You can throw anybody, any beast looking dude in the world and be like, ‘yup … throw em against Brock, I’ll pay for that fight!’”
