The internal war within the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement has flared up again, this time centered on Tucker Carlson – the famous former Fox News host and founder of the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN). According to information just released 30 minutes ago, a source close to the Trump campaign sarcastically said to Carlson: “Let him have a US presidential TV channel, who cares?” – but Carlson quickly responded with a shocking statement: “I will use it to end the manipulation of the American people by politicians.”
Simmering tensions erupt
Tucker Carlson used to be one of the loudest voices supporting Donald Trump, but since being cut off by Fox News, he has become more independent – and somewhat more critical of the traditional right wing. The establishment of TCN is an important milestone, helping him escape the control of large media corporations and build his own empire.
However, that has not been very pleasing to Trump and his associates. Carlson has repeatedly criticized Trump’s foreign policy in recent times, especially in the context of escalating tensions in the Middle East between Iran and Israel. In a recent broadcast, Carlson even said: “We cannot continue to sacrifice our youth and our national budgets for wars that are not ours.”
This statement has caused deep divisions within MAGA. A senior Trump aide told Truth Social: “Carlson is acting like he is a presidential candidate. Let him have a presidential television channel – let’s see how he handles it.”
Carlson’s uncompromising response
Not letting the ridicule go, Tucker Carlson immediately posted a video on the TCN platform, in which he asserted:
“If they think I created this channel to play around, they are sorely mistaken. I will use it to destroy all illusions, all media manipulation, and bring a real voice to millions of Americans who are fed up with lies.”
He also affirmed that he will hold live debates with politicians from all parties – and did not rule out the possibility of directly confronting Donald Trump if he runs for re-election in 2028.
A new political move?
Analysts believe that Tucker Carlson’s increased influence through the TCN network is not just a media ambition, but could be a preparation for a larger political role. Many Carlson supporters even called on him to run for president in the future, with the slogan “Honest Media – Transparent Government”.
Yet, with growing divisions within MAGA, the movement once considered invincible under Trump is at risk of splintering into multiple factions – with Carlson becoming one of the “locomotives” that separates it.
While Trump loyalists continue to view Carlson as a traitor, a segment of conservative voters see him as “the light at the end of the tunnel” – a journalist who is unfettered, dares to tell the truth, and is smart enough to challenge the entire American political system. The MAGA civil war is not over – and it has just added a new front in the name of presidential television.
