Billionaire Kim Kardashian said her second husband, basketball player Kris Humphries, once asked for her engagement ring back even though she contributed most of the money to buy it.

In a new episode of The Kardashians that aired on March 13, Kim Kardashian recalled her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries in 2011. Kim said she had to return the 18-carat diamond ring to Kris as part of the divorce settlement.
“I didn’t keep it,” Kim said of the ring. “He said if he wanted a divorce, I had to give the ring back.”

The American reality TV star confirmed that she paid for the ring while Kris only contributed one-fifth of the cost. At the time, Kim said that jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz encouraged her to return the ring to Kris, explaining that letting go was the best thing. Kim agreed, but she still regretted it because she wanted to keep the engagement rings as souvenirs.
The Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring is said to be worth around $2 million. In 2013, Kris Humphries auctioned the ring in New York for $749,000. He said he would donate some of the proceeds to charity.

However, just 72 days later, Kim filed for divorce, citing incompatibility with her husband and feeling that getting married was a mistake. After completing the divorce in 2013, the American basketball player cut off all contact with Kim.
