Simon Fisher-Becker, the British actor best known for his roles in ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Doctor Who’, died at the age of 63 on March 9.
His partner announced the sad news on Facebook but did not reveal the cause of Simon Fisher-Becker’s death. “At 2:50pm this afternoon Simon passed away. Not sure if I can post anything more,” the partner wrote.

Simon Fisher-Becker, 63, is best known for playing the Hufflepuff ghost, the Fat Friar, in the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He also appeared in three seasons of the television series Doctor Who , playing Dorium Maldovar.
Simon also starred in the hit BBC comedy series Puppy Love , as well as several other British classics including One Foot in the Grave , The Bill, Afterlife… The actor had a small role in the 2012 Oscar-winning film, Les Misérables. Throughout his career, Simon has appeared in over 20 television series and films.

Fisher-Becker’s manager, Kim Barry, told MailOnline : “Today I have not only lost a client in Simon Fisher-Becker, but also a dear friend of 15 years. I will never forget the phone call I made to him when he was offered the role of Dorium Maldovar in BBC’s Doctor Who .”
Barry added: “Simon was also a wonderful writer, storyteller and speaker. He helped me so much and was always kind, considerate and caring. My condolences go out to his husband Tony, his brother, his grandchildren and his huge fan base.”
