Lee Yoo-Joo who appeared in variety show Infinite Challenge, passed away on February 18, at the age of 35. The renowned yoga instructor came to limelight after doing the MBC show.

The news was revealed by her yoga studio Yogaum on February 19. As reported by Allkpop, Yogaum took to its social media handle and shared a statement.

Statement on Lee Yoo-Joo’s death

“We have to share some sudden and heartbreaking news. Teacher Lee Yoo Joo passed away yesterday (February 18th). According to the wishes of the bereaved family, there will be no separate wake or funeral. Instead, we will set up a space at Yogaum where visitors can pay their final respects until this Friday. Please pray for the soul of teacher Lee Yoo Joo, who was beautiful, pure, and brightened the world with her special talents, so she may rest in peace.”

Though the cause of death has not been revealed, Lee’s death came as a shock to her friends and family. Infact just a day before her demise, Lee shared a selfie on her personal social media profile along with a “BYE.”

Lee Yoo-Joo’s followers send tributes

Ever since her followers and fans have been sending tributes and condolences in the comments section. One comment in Korean language translated English as, “When I was a teenager, Yooju teacher was like a dream and a star to me. I wanted to find you for support once in a while in the times where pain is coming… I’m heartbroken to receive such sad news.”

Another one read, “Since the old days of Facebook, I’ve only seen online, but I’m thinking about how many times should I send a message saying that I’m not alone since I’ve been too dangerous and tired. Exercising and traveling with a dog, I believed in the power of the person who was trying to get up silently.. I don’t know what’s the use of it now, but I really hope that it will be conveyed to the soul that so many people loved you.. Rest in peace Yooju. I hope you shine more calmly and freely there, leaving all your pain behind.”
