The letter that Barbie Hsu wrote to her daughter, printed in the book “The Old Lady Comes”, touched the audience with its story of motherly love.

On February 5, hundreds of thousands of viewers remembered the actress by sharing on social media a letter excerpted from her 2015 book. Many said they were moved by her maternal love and admired her determination.

The book was released when Hy Vien and businessman Uong Tieu Phi’s first daughter was one year old. Below is the content of the letter:

“To Tieu Nguyet, my dear daughter,

I have gone through hardships and tried many ways to bring you into this world, but in the end, your presence, I think, is your choice. I will be a good mother, accompanying you to grow up. But no matter what, you are an independent individual, you will have your own mission, my duty is to support you as much as possible.

Mom loves you so much that she is willing to use her life to protect you (but hopes that such a thing will not happen). No matter what kind of person you become when you grow up, mom will always love you.

I will remember the joy and satisfaction you make me feel now. I wish that in the future, you and I will have deep affection and also be good friends.

Watching you grow up, I can’t bear it. I’m worried that you will gradually leave my arms. When you understand me more, you will see that I’m not someone who likes to show off. I wrote this book to preserve memories for the two of us. When you grow up, you will have this book to remember your childhood.

Barbie Hsu’s autobiography “The Old Lady Comes ” chronicles her journey from idol singer to actress and mother. In the book, the actress said that after getting married in 2011, she and businessman Wang Xiaofei experienced many difficulties.

Barbie Hsu had difficulty conceiving due to her age and work pressure. They had to seek help from many famous doctors before they had their first child in 2014.

Their second son was born in 2016. The actress’s health was not good, she once fainted during an epileptic seizure. She also had heart disease , her body was weak from taking care of two young children. In 2018, she became pregnant for the third time but had to abort the baby because there was no heartbeat .

The couple divorced in 2021, and the two children live with their mother and stepfather in Taiwan. Barbie Hsu has repeatedly said that she does everything she can to ensure the privacy of her two children, so that they live in a safe environment, less affected by Internet violence.

The actress passed away on February 2 in Japan, her two children were on the trip. After being cremated, Hy Vien’s ashes were brought back to Taiwan by her husband – DJ Koo – and her younger sister Hsu Hy De. The family has not announced the time of the funeral.

Star Hy Vien was born in 1976 in Taiwan, entered the entertainment industry in the 1990s. In 2001, she became famous in some Asian countries through the role of Sam Thai in Meteor Garden .
