‘The Expendables 3’ actor Mel Gibson returned to his home in Malibu, California, to find nothing left after last week’s wildfires.

Mel Gibson was taken to his mansion by firefighters on January 15 after several days of evacuation.

The 69-year-old actor was moved as he walked around the house he had lived in for 15 years, now reduced to ashes. ‘It’s obviously pretty devastating,’ he said in an interview with NewsNation . ‘I had a lot of personal stuff there that, you know, I can’t get back.’

The Hollywood actor’s three cars were all burned. The metal panels were still hot after the smoldering.

‘Everything was completely destroyed. If anything was left, it was useless,’ Mel Gibson said.

The actor found the safe, but the contents were also damaged. Many of Mel Gibson’s awards from his film career were burned, along with all his belongings. However, he was lucky to keep two Oscars because they were stored elsewhere. Mel was also happy that his chickens in the garden miraculously survived.

Despite losing his home, Mel Gibson remains positive. ‘I’m fine. Don’t look back. You just keep moving forward,’ the actor said.

The $14.5 million mansion before it was swept away by the wildfire. It holds many memories for Mel Gibson and his family. The house is built mainly from stone and wood, with a classic style.

Mel Gibson was in Las Vegas recording for Joe Rogan’s podcast when the wildfires hit on January 7. He was told his entire neighborhood was ablaze, but there was nothing he could do. The weeklong wildfire in Los Angeles has burned more than 40,000 acres, destroyed thousands of homes and businesses, and killed at least 25 people.
