Pop superstar Billie Eilish has revealed she was ‘haunted’ by an old friend and spoken about the loneliness of fame.
Speaking on the BBC’s Miss Me? podcast with hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, Billie Eilish said she spent an unforgettable time with a “ghost”.
“Ghosting” is the word Eillish uses to refer to being abruptly cut off from a friend or partner without explanation. She says her experience was “crazy, really unbelievable.”

“It was someone I had known for many years. One day, through a phone call from an acquaintance, I learned that he had disappeared. Never heard from him again,” the singer said.
The singer then saw him dating someone else. “I really didn’t know he did that,” she added.
Eilish also opened up about how she lost friends when she became famous.
“I was suddenly famous and couldn’t relate to anyone. It was hard. It was really hard,” she said.
While her best friend Zoe remained by her side, Eilish said her other friends gradually drifted away.
“On my 20th birthday, I remember looking around the room and seeing only people I had hired. And they were all 15 years or more older than me,” she says.
When one of those employees abruptly quit, Eilish said they were no longer friends.
“And that was the worst thing that happened to me, making me realize that this is a job. If they leave me, they’ll never see me again,” Eilish admitted.
