The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback first sparked romance rumors with the TikTok star after she called the police when his Ohio home was burglarized on Dec. 9

Joe Burrow and Olivia Ponton have been “hooking up” since early fall, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.

Rumblings about a potential romance between the NFL quarterback and the SI Swim model began after PEOPLE confirmed that Ponton had been the one to alert police after Burrow’s home was robbed on Monday, Dec. 9.

An insider who knows both Burrow, 28, and Ponton, 22, tells PEOPLE exclusively, “They have been hooking up since the early fall and are keeping it Reps for Burrow and Ponton did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The police report obtained by PEOPLE marked the first time the couple was linked, and sparked speculation about how long they’ve been together prior to the reported break-in at the NFL star’s Anderson Township residence.

According to the police report, the TikTok star reported the break-in at Burrow’s home around 8:14 p.m., telling authorities that when she arrived she noticed a “shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked.

Ponton, who has over 10 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, called her mother, “prompting the 911 call,” the report adds. Once deputies arrived at the property, they cleared the home and the Criminal Intelligence Section (CIS) captured pictures and evidence of the scene.

Burrow, meanwhile, was “was out of town” playing in Dallas when the robbery occurred and couldn’t report what items had been taken, according to the police. Ponton, described as an employee for Burrow in the police report, shared a list of what was “possibly missing.”

Authorities are also checking with neighbors to see if surveillance footage captured video of any potential suspects. CIS is investigating, the report states.

In police audio obtained by TMZ, Ponton’s mother could be heard telling a dispatcher that her daughter was “wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding or if she should be going outside.”

Ponton is later heard in a separate call saying, “Someone broke into my house… It’s like completely messed up.”

On Dec. 11, Burrow spoke out for the first time about the home burglary. “So obviously everybody has heard what has happened,” Burrow told reporters about the incident that occurred while he was away in Texas for a game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one and way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share so that’s all I got to say about that,” he added.

Ponton, meanwhile, has yet to publicly comment on the matter.
