A controversy has arisen over one of the locations in the video announcing Princess Kate’s recovery from cancer. Many people have pointed out that the scene was taken on a nudist beach.

On the evening of September 9, the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales attracted a lot of attention when it posted a video revealing that  Princess Kate  had completed chemotherapy and was officially cured of cancer.

The video captures moments when William, Kate and their three children play together in nature, including woods, fields and beaches. It is accompanied by Kate’s emotional sharing about the difficult times they have been through and her hopes for the future.

As of September 13, the video has received more than 2.3 million likes. Royal fans rejoiced at the news of Princess Kate’s recovery and loved the Welsh family’s simple, laughter-filled moments.

However, netizens always know how to make a dramatic story. Some people recognized the beach scene near the end of the video at Holkham Bay, England’s largest national nature reserve located on the Norfolk coast. This is a popular tourist destination in the summer and is always among the most picturesque and top-rated coastal spots in the land of fog.

Members of the British royal family are no exception and often take the time to visit. The beach is just a short drive from the Sandringham estate. The late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly liked to walk her dog on the beach.

The Welsh couple’s Anmer Hall mansion is also not far from the seaside village of Holkham. Sources revealed to Hello! that the Welsh family were spotted frolicking on the beach several times in 2023.

Despite its poetic beauty, this seaside area has one shortcoming that has not been resolved for many years. According to the Daily Mail, if the person who filmed the video of William and Kate had zoomed in a little more, some less attractive scenes could have been captured. Those are nude bathers. The west coast has one of the most popular nudist areas in the UK.

In 2010, a campaign was launched to ban naturists from the site altogether after multiple reports of sexual assault. Tourists and local residents reported being solicited for sex right on the sand dunes where the Welsh family was playing.

In August 2010, a person reported on the campaign’s Facebook page that he had been propositioned twice in his last three visits to the beach. This person added that he had seen people having sex on the sand dunes, as well as naked men walking around and provoking women. Despite the report, local authorities did not take any specific action to put an end to the situation.

“The beach used to be a great place to hang out, but now it’s just a paradise for people who like to change partners and for perverts who don’t accept rejection,” the woman stressed.

At that time, the Norfolk Police Department responded and sent forces to investigate those who acted inappropriately, but to no avail.

In the UK, public nudity is not illegal, as long as there is no intention to be obscene, alarming or have a negative impact on others. British Naturism (BN) is an organisation set up to unite and support naturalists.

In June 2013, when reports emerged that the conservation area leaders were banning nudity on the beach, BN spoke out against it. They believe the harassment was committed by a particular group and does not reflect the entire community of people who love being in harmony with nature.
