CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Virginia State Police issued a CODI Alert on behalf of Chesapeake police for a missing girl, 14-year-old Deborah Abigail Jenkins, last seen on Monday, November 11 at 1 a.m.
State police shared the following description of Jenkins: white female; blonde hair and hazel eyes; 5′ 2″ and 75 pounds. She was last seen at 3355 South Military Highway in Chesapeake wearing a black zip-up hoodie and black pants, state police added.
She was last seen with 41-year-old James Bell, according to state police.
Police shared the following description of Bell: white male; brown hair and brown eyes; 5′ 7″ and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black hat with a green pot leaf logo.
Both were last seen on foot, police say. The disappearance poses a credible threat to his/her health and safety as determined by the investigating agency, police added.
Deauna Miller, the adoptive sister of Deborah, says Bell is the ex-boyfriend of her mother and has developed a semi-father-figure relationship with her sister.
“It’s very complicated with them (Bell and Deborah). One minute they are laughing and giggling and the next minute they’re bickering back and forth…” said Miller.
Police believe Jenkins could be in danger. As investigators continue to look for her, Miller shared a message that she hopes reaches her little sister: “Abby, please come home. Come back,” said Miller. “Mom and I are worried about you. We want you home so please come back.”
