In addition to his role as an actor, Ron Ely was also a novelist, having published two novels called Night Shadows and East Beach with the main character in the work being private detective Jack Sands.
Ron Ely had been through two marriages. In 1959, he married his high school girlfriend Helen Janet Triplet, but the marriage only lasted 3 years.
In 1984, he remarried Valerie Lundeen – Miss Florida – and had 3 children together including Kirsten, Kaitland and Cameron.
In 2019, Valerie Lundeen was found stabbed to death at her home in California. She died at the age of 62 with multiple stab wounds on her body and the murderer was her 30-year-old biological son Cameron.
Immediately, the police launched a search for suspect Cameron. After discovering the subject, the authorities tried to control him but Cameron resisted and opened fire, killing the suspect. Now, the family has lost another member.
In a post on her personal page, eldest daughter Kirsten was heartbroken when she announced: “The world has lost one of the greatest people, and I have also lost my father.”
Kirsten praised her father as an actor, writer and family man. Wherever he was, he was able to bring positive and strong influences, which she did not find in others.
