Brendan Schaub has a theory on why Dana White is branching out into fights outside of the traditional UFC model.
The big talk in the MMA world has nothing to do with actual athletes. Instead, much has been made of a possible fight between billionaire businessmen Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. The Tesla and Twitter head honcho was the one to get things going by calling out the Facebook (Meta) founder.

During a recent edition of “The Schaub Show,” Schaub responded to Dana White claiming that Musk vs. Zuckerberg isn’t a gimmick fight.
“I think he’s confused on what a gimmick fight is,” Schaub said. “Is it gonna be one of the most watch fights of all time? Yes. Does that make it not a gimmick? No. This is the definition of a gimmick fight. You have two guys that have no business fighting.”
Outside of wanting to be involved in an attention-grabbing spectacle such as Musk vs. Zuckerberg, Schaub has shared a theory on why White has been looking at other ventures in the fight game.
“I just think Dana White’s bored,” Schaub said. “I think he’s over the regular UFC matchups. I think that’s why you have the Power Slap Fight League, I think that’s why he’s even entertaining Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and the UFC. He’s just bored. He just wants to mix it up and this is another project for him to do.”
