John Cena is the latest wrestler to start making his mark on the big screen, following in the footsteps of the enormously successful Dwayne Johnson and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista, among others.
Following successful turns in Amy Schumer vehicle Trainwreck and Tina Fey/Amy Poehler comedy Sisters, as well as Daddy’s Home and its sequel, Cena switches one ring for another, supplying the voice of Ferdinand the bull in a new animated feature. Ferdinand is based on the classic children’s book and follows the exploits of a bull forced into the ring to face a champion matador, even though he doesn’t want to fight.
Cena has also made his mark on smaller screens – as the star of countless memes. Arguably one of the most memed (is that a word? It is now) people in the world, John Cena is very aware of his status. One of the more popular subjects for memes about the WWE star and actor include his famous taunt “You can’t see me”, which meme makers like to take literally.
