Ten Hag Sends Warning Message to Liverpool
Manchester United’s coach wants his players to unleash their anger on Liverpool in the upcoming Premier League match.
“Facing Liverpool, MU will play with madness and fury,” Telegraph quoted coach Erik ten Hag ahead of the match against Liverpool at Old Trafford on April 7th. “MU must quickly recover (after the defeat against Chelsea). We need to change the situation as quickly as possible, to enter the match against Liverpool with a relaxed mindset.”
Coach Ten Hag also emphasized that MU would activate the energy of anger – an emotion believed to be prevalent among the players after experiencing consecutive disappointing results, turning this into a weapon to cope with Liverpool.
MU is stumbling. They missed the opportunity to narrow the points gap with the Champions League qualification group after drawing with Brentford and losing to Chelsea. These results make the task of the “Red Devils” even more difficult. Currently, Manchester is trailing Aston Villa – the fourth-placed club in the Premier League standings – by 11 points.
For MU, the remaining 8 matches of the season are considered “finals,” where the Manchester team must win to hope for UEFA Champions League qualification next season.
“In the past two matches, MU dropped 5 points. Those were valuable points. The season is coming to an end. We know the upcoming task is very difficult, but the whole team will continue to fight. This is the character of MU,” Coach Ten Hag emphasized.
Finally, the former Ajax coach also defended Marcus Rashford, saying that experts are misjudging the English forward. Previously, former defender Gary Neville criticized Rashford, describing the striker as “off-track” and “something not right” in his playing style.
“I don’t know what Gary Neville said. However, Rashford’s recent form has been better. He still has motivation, the desire to conquer difficult tasks with the team. Rashford also wants to win trophies, score goals, and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League. Moreover, the EURO is approaching, and that’s what makes Rashford even more determined,” Coach Ten Hag expressed his opinion.
