IT prodigy Sergey, 7 years old, was invited to be the head of the Pro23 company when he turned 14, after demonstrating his programming skills since the age of 5.
Russian IT solutions company Pro32 has invited 7-year-old Sergey, who lives in St. Petersburg, to take up the position of head of training for the company when he is old enough, the BBC reported today.
Sergey is well-known in the Russian IT world for posting software tutorials on YouTube when he was just 5 years old. Under Russian law, he cannot hold a paid position before the age of 14.
Igor Mandik, CEO of Pro32, has spoken to Sergey’s parents about finding ways to work with him in the meantime. “Sergey’s father, Kirill, was surprised and delighted. He is looking forward to the day his son can join our team,” Mandik said.

Sergey’s YouTube channel attracts thousands of subscribers, many of whom want to learn about Python and Unity programming languages, or about neural networks and artificial intelligence (AI).
In the videos, Sergey gives programming tutorials in Russian, sometimes in broken English. Russian media reports that Sergey can read Harry Potter books in English.
Director Mandik said that Sergey not only demonstrated incredible programming skills, but also surprised with his unique communication skills.
“Sergey is like Mozart,” said Mr. Mandik. “By the time he is 14, he will definitely be a master of teaching and developing IT. We are looking forward to that day.”
There is no commitment yet on Sergey’s remuneration, as current salaries in Russia can vary significantly. “We will wait seven years, and then we will discuss his salary,” said Mr Mandik.
